Having qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 1994, Parul worked as a hospital doctor in Accident and Emergency, Orthopaedics and Elderly Care Medicine and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1998.
Dr Karia's medical experience includes several years as a Specialist Registrar in Accident and Emergency in busy London hospitals. She also has experience in Paediatrics and ENT and is trained in Minor Surgery.
Parul has worked as a GP since 2003 and completed her General Practice Vocational Training in Watford. During this time she was a finalist in the 2006 Guidelines in Practice Awards and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2006.
She started her Private Practice in Stanmore in 2008, and has established The Northwood Surgery in 2015.
Parul has developed Acupuncture as a special interest. She is an Accredited member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) and has completed her Masters (MSc) with Distinction at the School of Postgraduate Medicine, University of Hertfordshire.
Parul has completed advanced training in Non-surgical beauty techniques to complement the medical services that she offers at The Northwood Surgery.
Dr Karia works 5 sessions a week for a busy NHS GP practice in Hertfordshire. This enables her to keep up to date with the latest advancements and guidance in medical practice. She regularly attends and contributes to Clinical Governance meetings and undergoes an annual GP Appraisal process, again ensuring that she maintains the highest standards in her professional practice. Dr Karia has fulfilled all the requirements laid out by the GMC and has achieved revalidation.
Parul is happily married with 2 children. She loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, listening to music and enjoying good food!
